I'm curious about the satisfaction level of any ATI (Radeon) owners here.  Let 
me ask a few questions:

1. do you experience full 2D/3D acceleration of your ATI card without 
installing their proprietary driver?  (comments regarding XFree86 vs X.org 
welcome)

2. If you must install a proprietary driver, do you have to recompile it when 
you upgrade the kernel to a new version?

3. Have you had hands-on experience on 2 similar recent systems, one equipped 
with Nvidia, and another with ATI?  Which did you feel was faster at normal 
desktop tasks, including movie playing?

4. For gaming with OpenGL, which did you find to be faster?

5. In short, which would you buy, given budget and performance issues?
